After hours of being on hold, then passed back and forth from the pharmacist reception staff to the doctors receptionist we were really struggling with communication about a repeat perscription. Eventually we spoke to a receptionist at the doctors named Jacinta. What a pleasant, empathetic, sympathetic, caring person. Within in minutes she had resolved all our problems in a caring, proffesional manner. Can't thank or praise her enough.

Baffled as to how Lorraine, the receptionist, got a job here. No telephone manner. Curt. Frazzled by information given and curt because she cant keep up. Doesnt want to listen. Accusatory tone "Why are you cancelling the appointment?" Told the reason "oh" yes Lorraine "oh" thank god it wasn't a more serious and sensitive matter like a bereavement. Atrocious! You dont like the job Lorraine, dont work in public service. Do us all a favour.

Trying to book an appointment and they seem to intentionally give you days and times you are busy. Good luck if you are working, you won't be getting an appointment, or anything of use, but will be getting a lovely argument with the the receptionist. Waiting for over half an hour on the phone after 30 attempts to get through, just a massive waste of time. In fact, getting any help from this place is unlikely, at best they will send you to A&E. They will claim they have informed the A&E you are own your way and then when you get to the hospital, they will have heard nothing from them. Changes to medications without being contacted, refusal to switch them back. Medications will always be whats cheapest. Test results given over the phone by a receptionist, they will have no idea what the results mean and will suggest you "google it". I'd move doctors but farnworth is blessed with just this place, which is also connected to highfield.

Oh dear oh dear.... don't even know why I'm bothering leaving a review, nothing will change. Firstly their 'highly trained staff' - we're triage nurses now are we? Hmmmm. So i rang these folk half an hour before my appointment to say I was stuck in traffic. Once I got past autobot and into the queue at position 7, by the time I arrived at the surgery I asked the receptionist if their phones were manned; I'd dropped to position 2 after 40 minutes, no doubt because people were just hanging up. I won't say the young recpetionist was rude, or curt, or very direct, but she very much wanted me to know (wait for it, stock answer....) 'Yeah it's COVID, we're short staffed'. On the upside though, I have had a good few telephone conversations with a student doctor, a doctor, a senior nurse, so hey at least there's conversation going on. So I did actually manage to see a real human, success there. I know the NHS is having trouble but come on... sort it out. No doubt I'm blacklisted now for this review eh.
