If you are coming from bib International College (Germany) then I would recommend NOT to do it. With a top-up year you have 60 ECTs and in Germany they want you to have 180 or over to study masters. If you ask bib, they will say that the Solent university will award the students with the 120 ECTs for the 2 years at bib. But when you ask Solent, it's like they know nothing about it. Save yourself the frustration and either study at a normal university for the standard 3 years or do a regular Ausbildung. Not the whole bib/Solent cooperation. Now I'm stuck about how to apply for a masters and how to show them the 180 ECTs. The university is no help. What kind of "partnership" is this? About the uni itself, I will have to update this review later.

When I graduated from the old Southampton Institute (now called Solent University) in the Spring of 1994 and asked (in a phone call) a law lecturer who had interviewed me for the LL.B (Hons) course (law) for a reference, she paused for a few minutes and replied: 'I'm sorry but to be honest I can remember who you are.' This was after attending her Trust and Equity classes for three years. So it seems that lecturers don't always have much interest in their students at this particular educational establishment. In my opinion the courses and level of teaching are basic. In my opinion too I would say (as an experienced employment lawyer) that most young people would earn more and gain a much better career by doing apprenticeships. As a mature student who gained a law course place after doing an Access course, I would say that in my experience/opinion that there was (and maybe still is) discrimination by the teaching staff against older students and working class students. Before joining the LL.B (Hons) course I had offers from Southampton University (history), Portsmouth University (economics) and Winchester (English). What job you get after graduating depends very much on your contacts/your parents' contacts/your parents' and relatives' business contacts. Without the necessary contacts you can graduate with a first-class degree and end up shelf-stacking at Tesco. The reason that graduates from universities such as Oxford and Cambridge get such good jobs is not the degrees they are awarded but their family/social/business contacts. If you're from a wealthy family it's very likely you'll be parachuted into a top-class job. That's life.

Ramy Hammady - I want to highlight the fact that I have never met Ramy in person, but I'm giving him one star only because he has rated my business with one star on Google, even though he has never been in our salon, talk to us or experienced any of our treatments. This is not something what you would expect from someone who has PhD and works as Senior Lecturer at Solent University. THIS IS NOT OPINION ABOUT SOLENT UNIVERSITY. Kind regards
