Awful, on hold for 20 minutes at 8.30 on Sat am!!! No wonder people dont pay there taxes properly all the HMRC are interested in are running up your phone bill. Automated call constantly telling you to do it all yourself online, then the staff will be in an uproar once they are all redundant. Why are there no employee's capable of awnsering the phone and providing some customer service? Absolutely awful service!!

Long annoying automated service, over 15 mins on call to it to be told they're too busy and then "GOODBYE" and it ends the call. Also no call back or time slot options. Government Gateway online account not much better, been told I have a reply on my account but no message and no way to make an enquiry about it in my account options. Very frustrating

Absolute trash. Calling HMRC connects you to an automated system that clearly doesn't understand English (even without accent) and makes you repeat yourself 4 times before at least giving you number options. Once I'd listened to the brain numbing musak in perfect quality for around half an hour the line let out two or three screeching beeps and I connected to an operative who may (or may not) have been using two-cups-on-a-string for his connection as it kept cutting out every second word which was poor quality, no doubt as a product of their monitoring software (customer care not surveillance... :| ), either that or he was speaking through a fan. Anyway, I got through verification and once that was done he then hung up on me so I had to go through the entire torturous process again!! Almost as competent as you'd expect HMRC to be to be fair. When I did get through the next operative was no end of absolutely useless.

The website is saying they are open while they refuse to open the doors even after ringing the doorbell... Aaahhh so frustrating 😤 even when you call them they keep saying their lines are busy... Waste of time might as well close this office.

Number they gave was unobtainable had to go round the houses to contact who I was looking for. Eventually after being put through to 3 different departments they managed to find who I was looking for. They Emailed him to let him know I was contacting him. Still waiting on a response. There was no correspondence to contact them by email, write to them just a PO Box. Very difficult to contact.
